Orang Utan, Turtle Island and Proboscis Monkey

DAY 1 - Turtle Island

Enjoy a 30-45 minute flight to Sandakan. Transfer to Turtle Island (1 hour boat journey). Free at leisure in the afternoon. After dinner, learn more about turtles at the Exhibition Centre while you wait for the park ranger to locate a turtle coming ashore. Release little turtle hatchlings to the sea. Night at Selingan Island Chalet. (Basic twin sharing, air conditioning). Note: No cameras and no one permitted on the beach from sundown to sunrise.

DAY 2 - Orang Utans and Proboscis Monkey

Return back to Sandakan city for a visit to the world’s largest orang utan rehabilitation sanctuary - Sepilok. Transfer by boat to Sukau with a stop at Abai village for lunch. In the evening, embark on a river cruise in search of the elusive long nose proboscis monkey endemic of Borneo, and other wildlife along the Kinabatangan.

DAY 3 - Proboscis Monkey and Sandakan

Visit Puh Jyh Shih, Sabah’s biggest and most expensive Buddhist Temple, and Buli Sim Sim Water village.
